HOLIDAY DINNER

Happy Newsletter Day!

I know I missed last week, but I promise I’ll make it up to you! I got back from being in NYC for 7 weeks and needed to get my life back together.. I also decorated my house in a span of a week, which I’m quite proud of to be completely honest haha!

This past weekend I hosted two holiday parties back to back. When I say I love hosting.. I really LOVE hosting. I wanted to have a nice candle lit dinner with my best friends from college since we don’t really get to see each other together as often as we would like. As much as I love to host, it comes with a huge to-do list. Therefore, if you’re planning on hosting one this year with your family and friends hopefully this helps you out a little!

I first start by planning out how I want the centerpiece to look (i.e. if I want a garland or just a huge centerpiece, etc.) I wanted something fun yet neutral and romantic. Here are the items in the picture above:

Disco Ball Ornaments
Real Garland from Safeway
Clear Tea Light Candle Holder, set of 6
Beaded Garland (I had this from last year and it’s no longer available, but I linked a similar one!)
Set of 3 Tapers Cast Aluminum Candle Holder
Wood & Metal Single Candle Holder
2pk Wax Decorative Holiday Rope Taper Candle (I got red & green)

After I set up the garland and accessories, I set up the plates and flatware. I am so in love with how things turned out this year.. Is it weird to be obsessed with a salad plate..? I LOVE the honeycomb look because I can use it year around and it adds in some contrast and texture!

Dinner Plating
Honeycomb Salad Plate
Staccato Dinner Plate
Organic Cotton Casual Napkins
Diem Champagne Flatware

I wanted to get items that I knew I can use constantly and not just during the holidays. These pieces are classic and neutral so it’s perfect for whenever you want to host. I also added a little touch by creating the menu and printing them out. It’s a fun little detail, but you definitely don’t have to do that! Note, you can also shop on my LTK where I share where I purchase things / similar and cheaper items.

Overall, dinner parties are my favorite things because you share more amazing memories with your loved ones. I love creating the space to have everyone comfortable and just feel as though they’re at home. Regardless if you have a small or large family, you can always create an intimate setting with your friends and family.

Happy Holidays!! I hope you’re all done with Christmas shopping because I certainly am not..

xoxo,

Kathleen
